Matthews Radiation Oncology Center

Matthews Radiation Oncology Center opened in 1990 on the campus of Presbyterian Hospital Matthews, and has been serving oncology patients in South Charlotte for 16 years.

In 2004 extensive renovations were undertaken to provide the latest technologies available. CT simulation for more complex treatment planning as well as conventional fluoroscopic simulation is available. The linear accelerator is a dual photon and multiple electron energy machine which includes 120 multileaf collimation for 3D and IMRT treatment, portal imaging, and is linked to the latest treatment planning and record-and-verify system. The treatment planning system includes the ability to fuse PET, CT, and MRI images, optimizing tumor targeting for precise treatment.

The center is staffed with a registered oncology nurse, certified radiation therapists, and board certified physicist and dosimetrists.

Physician services are provided by Southeast Radiation Oncology Group.

Accredited by the American College of Radiation Oncology
